Took the SRT8 Magnum to the track for MCE this past Saturday. I ran the car three times and sat back and watched for the most part since I achieved the time that I wanted to.
The race weight was 4480 and I ran on street Toyo Proxes 4 tires at 36 PSI. The times were:
12.541 @ 112.43 mph (took off at 700 rpms)
12.664 @ 111.45 mph (took off at 1000 rpms)
12.803 @ 112.25 mph (took off at 1500 rpms)

I think that the car can do a bit better with the tires aired down to give a little more RPMs off the line. The 12.803 I put too many rpms on the clock and the track was getting cold. With a better 60', I could have run a 12.4XX that time. I still think that a 12.3XX is doable as the car sits today. I am thinking of taking it back to Ryan and Aric to get a re-read on the AFR since the tune was done PRIOR to the t-stat, pulley and hand ported TB. I also am waiting for the TCM programming that I HOPE Diablo will be coming out with soon. Call me crazy but I think that I might be able to get a 12.2 outta this thing on stock heads, 20" rims, street tires and stock torque converter. One thing to note, the cam that I have in the car is a very small cam so I am even more impressed with the power that the car is putting down, especially at this weight. Thanks for the tune Injected; I'll be back!!!

First of all, are they adding Ethanol to the pump gas up in Georgia? Down here in Florida, all of the generic stations (like 7-11) and most of the major oil company stations are adding 10% Ethanol to the pump gas.

Of course, they are nice enough not to change the price of the gas, at least not significantly, that I can see. Florida is way more expensive than Georgia and the rest of the South, and has been for years, so I can't really compare FL to GA prices, but now we are only getting 90% gasoline for what seems to be 100% of the price.... if it's lower, it's only a few cents, and you'd think if the addition of Ethanol lowered price, they'd be pushing that as a selling point. BP actually says they've added "Invigorate" to the gas, like it's a performance enhancing additive.

Does the Ethanol in the gas affect the tune at all?

I haven't really noticed that the vette runs any different than it did before, but the vette is set up with some kind of sensor that pulls spark if you get a hold of lower than 93 octane fuel - it's in the factory tune, so I wouldn't get any pinging, but performance would be affected - however since I'm not racing the vette, or really running her hard anywhere, I can't really tell a difference in performance. I can't really tell with the Harley, either - maybe a little more popping on deceleration, but I've got aftermarket pipes.

I would think that mileage would be affected, no???

I remember back in the day - late 70s, early 80's - I was living in Arizona, and a few stations started putting ethanol in the gas. It wreeked havoc on my 260Z. Some of the fuel fittings and hoses sprung leaks. Apparently whatever they were made of at the time - neoprene or whatever, or maybe the sealer they used dissolved in alcohol. Has anyone heard of any of these kinds of issues in today's cars using ethanol??

I try to avoid stations that have the ethanol, but it's getting harder and harder to do.

Injected Engineering is proud to offer the Cold Air Intake upgrade for Vortech Supercharged Challengers. This kit is a direct bolt on that is custom fabricated to move the air filter away from engine heat and into the front bumper, it also includes a much larger air filter than Vortech ships with their kit. The Cold Air Intake will soon be offered for Chargers, Magnums and 300c's as well! For anyone interested I will be posting prices tomorrow and offering a group buy.
